Now Crest units, local Communications teams & RUG members have three ways to get the
latest, most up-to-date team & event information.
RUG conducts a Radio Net each Monday night at
8:00 p.m. on
462.675 Mhz. If you have a consumer-type radio (like the Motorola
Talkabout GMRS) the channel you want to listen is
normally 20, with tone set to "0" or no tone. Sorry, with
this type of radio you won't be able to participate since they are no
repeater capable. For other radio models, check your radio handbook.
There should be a table with channel and frequency information.
This is a great way to find out what other teams are doing, what events
they are planning, and volunteer opportunities available. Just listen in
[use your radio or scanner] and get the
latest information directly from Communications Teams as they check in on the Net.
